Manchester is a rich and vibrant centre of northern England which has a lively and diverse culture. In this thriving community its continued development and vibrancy needs to expand and that is where MSA plays its leading role. At its heart are the people that live, visit, work and study. It is these people that require architecture in which they inhabit. Successful design of architecture has been fully integrated into the city scape and it is within this community that I wish to make my contribution to society. Manchester's historical and modern buildings equally inspire me, and i would like to use both aspects in my own work in the future to come. The imperial war museum at Salford demonstrates historical techniques through a modern building. I would like to spend my time studying at the MSA to progress down the route of increasing my architectural knowledge and mixing old ideas with the new.

Once graduated I hope to work alongside some of the great architects of today, one of my all-time favourite architects is Norman Foster who is from Manchester himself. Foster’s designs are not just visible in and around London but also in Germany (the Reichstag Parliament Buildings), Hong Kong (Chek Lap Kok Airport), and the US (Spaceport America). Foster also responsible for designing some of the beautiful buildings in London such as Great Court at the London Museum for Queen Elizabeth 2nd, the Canary Wharf Underground Station and the Millennium Pedestrian Bridge over the River Thames. after graduation I hope to have the oppertunity to work away from home. I would be interested to see how the grand and unique buildings are built and to learn unique skills and techniques used by the local architects working around the world. I would also like to work in Britain to create modern sleek and stylish buildings with old English heritage in mind. I particularly like London's shard tower designed by Ranzo Piano. Because of the usage of materials used to finish the project, as they appear pleasing to the eye yet unusual as it is shaped like a triangle. Once completed in May 2012 the Shard Tower is estimated to be the tallest building in Europe at a grand total of 310 meters tall. Graduating from MSA increases working potential for myself in the future. Employers are aware a Manchester graduate has high standards increasing careers prospects after completing the architecture degree.

 My college tutors have stated 'I have a unique skill and stayed focused when it comes to drawing' Construction is a way of life and being a part of the construction team in the design department is what I have wanted to do for a long time I hope to gradually increase my capability to defy the laws of creating a safe building to be used and witnessed by the public for generations. Manchester University is one of the most popular universities in England and is rated third in terms of research power and achievements closely along side Oxford and Cambridge. Another great reason to study at MSA is to use the state of the art technology, and learn from visiting the Manchester museum and the John Ryland’s library.
